heya! I'm grace x

Updated: Aug 15, 2020

Hey everyone. So, as you have obviously seen, I have decided to start my own website and blog. I love writing, I love words, I love learning new languages, and I feel called by God to use my voice and the words He puts on my heart to spread His love, joy and freedom. I think that SO many people don't know the freedom that Jesus died on the cross and rose again to bless them with.

I first launched this website a while ago... and I was really excited about having a blog and using it as a platform to post nutritious recipes (I was mainly focusing on recipes at that point), but I can often be quite 'perfectionistic' and so I found myself doubting what I would say, how I would sound, what the tone of my writing would be... I spent so much time worrying about that, that I actually just procrastinated and never ended up even posting any blogs... simply because I was worried about sounding a certain way. I kind of just put this website to the side.

Something else about me, is that I loooove journals. I get so excited about what I can write in them and what I can fill them with. If you've seen my YouTube channel (which you should totally check out if you haven't already - linked at the bottom of my website), you would've seen that in my latest 'room tour' video, I showed you guys how I love journaling and have about seven or eight books or journals that I write many different things in; workout ideas, prayers, recipes, fitness goals, school goals etc.

The other day I was just spending some time with God before I hopped into bed. I usually read my Bible in this time, because it just gives me such peace of mind, just soaking in God's presence as I sleep. On this specific night my bible was upstairs, and I didn't feeling like going and waking up the whole house to fetch it. Now back to the journals... at the very top of the pile is one that I have probably filled about twenty to thirty pages of. So, I thought on that night that instead of fetching my Bible I'd just ask God to give me a word through what I had already written a while back in that journal. I was like "Lord, out of that book, which page do you want me to re-read and be reminded of," and I strongly felt the Lord saying to read page 7. I turned to the seventh page... and it was completely blank. Both pages 6 and 8 were full of writing, but page 7 had nothing written on it. As I noticed it was blank, I felt the Lord saying to me that I need to start writing and filling the pages again. In that moment, it resignated with my blog.

From all of this, I have just decided to trust God. To not worry about sounding a certain way, saying the right thing, having everything perfectly calculated and having the perfect voice, but instead to just say what I feel God has placed on my heart, what He is speaking to me about, what I am passionate about and what I love.

This blog is honestly just going to be a place for FUN, a place for INSPIRATION, for laughter, for joy, fitness, for nutrition, travel, for some fashion and beauty as well, for sport, for all the things, and I am SO excited about it!

I just feel to encourage you, that if you feel that the Lord has called you to do something... to just do it! Stop being shy or worrying about being perfect, looking perfect, or sounding perfect, just go for it, and have fun doing it! Co-labour with God, trust Him and follow Him, and say to youself, 'not today, perfect!'

If you find yourself feeling unsure of what He has called you to do, I would really encourage you to spend some time soaking in His presence and asking Him what His plan is for your life. It might be speaking to people through your art, music, photography... anything.

Often the things that you are really good at, are the things that God has called you into.

Song of Solomon 2:13

The fig tree has ripened its figs,

And the vines in blossom have given forth their fragrance.

Arise, my darling, my beautiful one,

And come along!
